HT&T HyperNews Discussions at STG
Our first HyperNews
discussion concerns the first set of selected
readings as well as the set of questions discussed at HT&T
1996.
Some questions we want to ask teachers who have used computer
networks, and other technologies, to improve their teaching,
whether in K-12 or higher education, are:
- What did the technologies allow you to do that you could not do
before?
- How did you choose or change and refine the technologies you
used in light of your experiences teaching with those
technologies?
- How do you measure the results of using technology in your
teaching?
- How do you determine when to change the degree or kind of
technology you use in the classroom?
Some questions we also wish to pose to researchers concerned
with the study of teaching with technology are:
- Why and how should assessment techniques change when technology
is introduced in the classroom?
- How should cognitive science research contribute to our
evaluation of technologies for teaching?
- What sorts of studies of teaching with technology could be
carried out in the next few years, by universities and consortia
like NetTech, that would drastically improve the quality of
teaching and curriculum, particularly in K-12 settings?
We hope you'll consider joining the discussions.
