Julia Flanders attended the Annual MLA (Mondern Languages Association) Convention, in several capacities. She chaired a session sponsored by the Women Writers Project entitled "Lost, Stolen, Strayed, or Forgotten: The Impact of 'Unknown' Women's Texts", and also presented a paper entitled "Physical Books, Virtual Texts", on physical bibliography and text encoding.

The Women Writers Project co-sponsored a booth in the book exhibit together with the Dickinson Electronic Archive (http://jefferson.village.virginia.edu/dickinson/).
