STG, working with two students who did the lion's share of
the work, implemented a website that mirrored the structure
of Wendy Chun's Control and Freedom: Power and Paranoia in the
Age of Fiber Optics, and presented the introduction of each chapter
in a meaningful and innovative manner. Despite its use of special
effects, this whole website conforms to web accessibility
standards.
Wendy Chun's Control and Freedom: Power and Paranoia in the
Age of Fiber Optics (MIT Press, 2006) examines the relationship of control and freedom in the way we think of networks and the internet. She wanted an electronic companion to accompany her book to
appear at the same time. The website consists of a limited
portion of the book, provocatively presented so as to invite
the reader to interact with and think about the subject
matter of the book.
