Edward Huff is the manager of the Multimedia Lab at Brown University List
Art Center. He is responsible for setting up this new facility for students in the creative arts.
Before coming to Brown, Ed spent two years aboard his boat and others, traveling over 12,000
miles. Prior to this sabbatical, Ed was the Director
of the Center for Instructional Technology Expertise at Bristol Community
College in Fall River, Massachusetts. There he developed a lab for the
faculty to create teaching tools using various multimedia means. Ed was also
the General Manager of the Providence Journal's first daily online
publication and prior to that he was the Creative Director for the
Advertising Department at the Providence Journal. He has lectured
extensively around the country on design and multimedia issues representing
the Providence Journal, the Society of Newspaper Design, Apple Computer and
others.
Ed graduated with a B.A. from Providence College in 1976. His focus was in
fine arts and graphic design. His personal interests represent a
broad range, from multimedia to fine
art to maritime history. Ed is an artist member of the American Society of Marine Artists and
has exhibited his work at the Mystic Maritime Gallery at the Mystic Seaport
Museum in Mystic, Connecticut. He also holds a Masters License from the United
States Coast Guard.
