curriculum vitae

Jacqueline Wernimont started work at the Textbase Editor and Project Manager of the Women Writers Project in October, 2007. Jacque is responsible for general management of the WWP, overseeing the development and editing of the textbase content, managing licensing for Women Writers Online, participating in research, and managing the WWP's outreach and publicity activities. Prior to taking this position, she worked as an encoder at the WWP and for the Modernist Journals Project, which is also housed at Brown. She has worked as an editor on several digital and print projects, some scholarly, such as a project on Shakespeare's Two Noble Kinsmen, others in business applications such as educational marketing and entertainment promotion. She also has seven years of experience in business and project management.

Jacque is completing her work on a dissertation project on seventeenth-century poetics and mathematics as generative semiotic systems. She holds a M.A. in English Literature from Brown University and a B.A. with honors in English Literature from the University of Iowa. Jacque's other scholarly interests include pedagogical applications of digital humanities technologies, the role of the academic in the public sphere, the cognitive function of fiction, and the role of number in memorial. When she finds that these pursuits have exhausted her, she like to recharge over baseball, football, or hockey.
